Mater Dei Academy is an independent Catholic school which operates as a non-recognised school under Section 14 (1) of the Education (Welfare) Act, 2000. It receives no funding from the Irish state and, as a registered charity in Ireland, it is supported by benefactors and parents.

Parent fees are family-based and all families are eligible for scholarship support. No child is refused admission to Mater Dei Academy on financial grounds.
