Costs

Mater Dei Academy is an independent Catholic school which operates as a non-recognised school under Section 14 (1) of the Education (Welfare) Act, 2000. It receives no funding from the Irish state and, as a registered charity in Ireland, it is supported by benefactors and donors. Mater Dei Academy does not charge fees for students who are resident in Ireland.

All parents are asked to provide a voluntary time commitment to support the Academy’s activities. Voluntary financial contributions from parents form an important support for the running of the Academy. However, such contributions are optional and no child is refused admission to Mater Dei Academy on financial grounds.

Child Safeguarding

The Board of Trustees recognises that child protection and welfare considerations permeate all aspects of the Academy’s life and must be reflected in all of the school’s policies, procedures, practices and activities. Therefore in all of its policies, procedures, practices and activities, the Academy will adhere to the principles of best practice in child protection and welfare in addition to its statutory requirements.

In addition to its statutory requirements, the Board of Trustees of Mater Dei Academy has adopted without modification the Department of Education’s Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools 2023 as part of their overall Child Safeguarding Statement.
